There is a way to determine the best-qualified agent for you. The key is in knowing the right questions to ask. The following list provides you with questions to ask the real estate agents you interview:

Are you a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and abide by their Code of Ethics?
Do you work as a full-time REALTOR®?
Do you have references that I can check?
Do you have a system to follow-up and communicate with me on a regular basis?
Will you communicate with me responsibly, honestly, and in a timely manner?
Will you communicate with me in a manner that works for me, whether it is by telephone, email, fax, or text?
Will you counsel me and explain all pertinent Real Estate documents in advance of any transaction?
Will you guide me through the entire contract process, including reviewing and counseling me on all offers, counter offers, and multiple offers?
Will you professionally represent me and negotiate the best terms for me?
Will you coordinate inspections: termite, contractors, well, septic, roof, etc?
Will you oversee all the paperwork throughout the transaction, including escrow and closing?
