About Scott Hamblen
My mission is to help my clients take care of all their real estate needs and have me become their Personal
REALTOR® for Life! I accomplish this mission by providing knowledge, experience, professional service, and care throughout each and every transaction, whether I represent the seller, the buyer, or both parties.
I'm originally from Long Beach, California, but moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1967 and lived there until 2000 before moving to Anthem, Arizona. My background has been primarily in sales and marketing where I spent many years in the building industry as a product and manufacturer's sales representative. I bring that wealth of knowledge and experience to my profession as a
REALTOR®. I earned my GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute) designation in December, 2006 and I'm also a member of the CENTURY
21® Multi-Million Dollar Club.
My wife, Susan was my partner in our Real Estate business until January of 2008. Because of her technical writing and training background, she was offered a position with the Arizona Association of
REALTORS® (AAR) to train and support brokers and their office staff in the use of a new transaction management system. She now gets to travel statewide to assist in implementing this system.
The Scuba Story
During my years in Prescott, I became a certified SCUBA diver in my spare time and worked my way up to become a SCUBA Instructor. I taught SCUBA courses for Yavapai College and the local YMCA. I also volunteered for the YCSRT (Yavapai County Sheriff's Response Team) Scuba Unit and eventually became their Training Coordinator.
My wife Susan started SCUBA diving for a hobby and worked her way up to become a SCUBA Instructor. She started working for Oasis Divers in Phoenix as a part-time instructor and sales associate and then purchased the struggling business with a partner in 1996. Susan is also known for writing the NAUI Scuba Diver and First Aid text books, which are used by NAUI Instructors world-wide to teach SCUBA and First Aid.
I met Susan through a mutual friend, who is also a SCUBA Instructor in Prescott. After dating for a couple of years, I had the opportunity to buy out Susan's partner in Oasis Divers and the rest is history. Susan and I were married in April, 2001 during an
underwater wedding in Key Largo, Florida where we set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Underwater Wedding (39 divers), which we held for three years before our record was broken. We sold Oasis Divers in 2006 so we could retire from retail and concentrate our efforts on Real Estate. We still teach SCUBA diving and lead
dive excursions around the world in our spare time.
